I wore two different shoes to work on Thursday. I didn't even realize it until I was walking down the hall looking at the rain on the ground. Ha! I crack myself up.
This blog is for all the special ed. teachers out there ( or for anyone with a special person in their lives) who need a bit of humor to make their days manageable...(you know we all do)! I don't think I could manage to survive in this profession without a good sense of humor. So if you have a funny story to share about your day, or just want to read about others' and laugh out loud, you've come to the right place.
I have been teaching children with special needs for 5 years now. The first couple of years was with 12th grade students diaganosed with emotional disturbances. The past 3 years have been with kindergarten and first grade - non-categorical. (That means the student can have any disability). I became a special educator because I felt "the calling" when I was in Junior High. I would spend my free time helping the special ed. teacher there, volunteering in her classroom. From then on, I have worked with children with special needs in one way or another. To me, they have a special quality and knowledge that the general population doesn't have. I end up learning just as much from them as they do from me.
